What is the Excel Fellowship?

A highly selective business leadership fellowship for university students or IDF Officers and NCO (Nagad) from elite units interested in the worlds of business and/or technology.

The lifelong fellowship begins with an immersive summer program engaging with Israel’s changemakers in business, technology, social impact, public policy, Jewish identity and more.

Israeli Excel Fellows are each paired with International Excel Fellows who intern at business and tech companies in and around Tel Aviv.

After the summer, Israeli Fellows become part of the Global Excel Community consisting of over 1K members with countless opportunities to engage in professional development, networking, social impact initiatives and more. Excel provides the resources and guidance on your path toward becoming a next generation Jewish business leader.

Israeli Excel Fellows are a bridge to Israeli culture for US and international Excel Fellows. For some, the summer program represents their first visit to Israel.

The ability to share Israel through an authentic lens is a unique and powerful aspect of the Excel Fellowship. Each Israeli Excel Fellow is matched one-on-one with an international Excel Fellow. They engage with each other at evening events and weekend trips and build relationships well beyond, often becoming lifelong friends.

Relationships are created with an international community of highly accomplished and ambitious young adults from diverse backgrounds who are similarly passionate about becoming leaders in their chosen industries. Nurture your professional development after the summer with Excel community-led experiences. Pursue business and social impact initiatives with global peer Excel Fellows to strengthen the Jewish communities abroad and the Israeli business sector.

With Birthright Israel Excel, you’ll gain more than just valuable professional skills and connections – you’ll gain the experience of a lifetime.

Being a Birthright Israel Excel Fellow means spending one moment with leaders from the Israeli ecosystem, and then another wine tasting in Ramat HaGolan with your international Excel Fellow peers. It means building marketable professional skills and creating meaningful connections across numerous industries. It means making friends who become family from all around the world.

You’ll have the opportunity to attend speaker events three times a week during the summer and join two adventure packed weekend trips within Israel, each with the full Excel group of international fellows.

What are the dates of the program?

2025: the program will run from the afternoon of June 9th through the evening of Thursday, August 14th.

When is the application deadline?

Application deadline for Summer 2025 closed

Can individuals who have previously joined Birthright Israel trips apply for the program?

Yes. Participation on a Birthright Israel 10-day trip does not affect your eligibility for Birthright Israel Excel.
